Webinar: AlarmRedux

Many medical measuring devices are used in intensive care units to monitor patients. These alert staff as soon as the patient's condition deteriorates. Most of these up to 300 alarms per patient per day are “false” or avoidable alarms, which can have dangerous consequences: from being ignored, to high nervous stress, to muting. In the last few years alone, there have been several incidents with fatal consequences. In the Alarmredux project, alarm data is recorded and graphically displayed in an easily understandable way. This enables hospitals to better understand their alarm system, reduce unnecessary alarms and relieve the burden on nursing staff. This allows nursing staff to focus on meaningful alarms again, which increases patient safety.
