On July 8, 2026, the Cyber Resilience Act Summit will take place at the Science Congress Center, organized by the industry publication Markt & Technik. The event provides a concise overview of the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) and presents practical strategies for securing connected products and software supply chains.

A highlight of the summit is the presentation by Dr. Andreas Kotulla (Bitsea):
“CRA Compliance in Practice: How Open Tools Support SMEs in Securing Software Supply Chains.”
He will demonstrate how small and medium-sized enterprises can efficiently implement specific requirements.

The summit will also examine how the CRA fits into the broader landscape of relevant regulations such as NIS2, RED, and the Product Liability Directive, offering valuable guidance for practical implementation.

The GenAI Summit is a specialist conference on AI-supported software development. On June 10 and 11, 2026, in Mannheim, developers, architects, and tech managers will gain practical insights into current GenAI tools, trends, and their use in real projects—from engineering and architecture to legal and organizational issues. In addition to presentations and experience reports, the event offers plenty of opportunity for exchange and networking.

Mr. Chan-jo Jun (JUN Legal GmbH) and Dr. Andreas Kotulla (Bitsea GmbH) will be on site to give a presentation on “AI-generated code between efficiency gains and legal risks.”

On Thursday, 7th of May 2026, the 58th General Assembly of ASW West will take place. This year, the event will be hosted by KÖTTER GmbH & Co. KG Verwaltungsdienstleistungen in Essen.

As part of the programme, Dr. Andreas Kotulla will give a presentation on the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA). The presentation will provide a concise overview of the current regulatory developments at EU level and their potential implications for companies and their IT security requirements.

In addition to the keynote presentation, the General Assembly will offer an opportunity to exchange views on current topics in corporate security and to network with fellow members.

On 15th and 16th April 2026, the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) will host the 21st German IT Security Congress. Under the motto “Cybernation Germany: together, secure, digital”, current topics in cyber security will be discussed in an interactive format.

Bitsea will also be taking part this year. Dr Kotulla will give a presentation on the 16th of April 2026 from 1pm to 2:30 pm entitled “CRA Compliance in Practice: How Open Tools Support SMEs in Securing Software Supply Chains.”

Since 2008, the FSFE Free Software Legal and Licensing Workshop (LLW) has been the world’s leading event for debates, discussions, and knowledge exchange on legal issues related to free software around a central, unifying theme.

The NKCS thematic workshop “Opportunities and Challenges of Open Source in Cybersecurity” brings together experts from academia, industry, and government agencies to discuss key issues for the future. The focus is on how a strong open-source ecosystem can contribute to Europe’s security, resilience, and digital independence, and what measures are needed to support it sustainably.

Bitsea will participate with a presentation on “Open Source and Cybersecurity: From Software Supply Chain Risks to the Cyber Resilience Act” at 10:45 a.m.

On Wednesday, 25th March, from 9:40 am to 10:00 am, a talk on CRA tooling for small and medium-sized enterprises will take place in Stuttgart. The speakers, Martin von Willebrand from Double Open and Hans-Jürgen Schumacher from Bitsea, will present the OCCTET project. Funded by the European Union, the project provides open-source tools and services to support European SMEs in complying with the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA). The presentation will outline the current state of the project and introduce tooling and services that are already available to support CRA compliance.
